I don’t know if it’s having (paid) time off for the holidays, or my grand strategy to simplify holiday preparation, or just plain holiday gratitude settling in, but I am really feeling appreciative of what I have right now.

I’m glad I’m gainfully employed (which I discuss in this new Mommy Track’d Watercooler post). I’m thankful to have a family I love and who loves me back. I’m grateful to be healthy and have lost 60 pounds this year. And despite a gloomy outlook for the economy in 2009, I can’t help but think, I’ve got it pretty good. I hope the holidays inspire you to be glad for what you have, too. Maybe if we all pass on our goodwill, hope and optimism to others, 2009 could turn out to be a whole lot better than 2008 was for many people.

Happy holidays, WMAGs! I’m grateful to you, too, just for reading this blog.
